It is with great regret as we announce the passing of Mirtes Gonçalves Vilela at General Hospital in Hamilton at the age of 74. Loving mother of Gabriel and Andrew, grandmother (Vovó) of Roberto Paulo and Knox. Sister of Ivo♱(Iondes), Idê(Eurípedes♱), Hilda♱(Miron♱), Aparecida(Alaor♱), Maurício♱, Nadir(Roberto♱), Milton(Angélica) e Hildo(Ceres). Daughter of Geraldo Gonçalves de Macedo♱ and Maura Vilela de Macedo♱. Mirtes was a strong and independent woman with a great passion for anything she set her mind to. She graduated with Honours to a Law Degree at a time that women did not have such roles. Had a very successful boutique with her own clothing line. She loved the snow and decided to venture to Canada where she fell in love with Ivan♱, whom she had many wonderful years with. Unfortunately, her battle with Diabetes got the best of her, now she will rest and be forever in our hearts.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will occur at a later date.

É com muito pesar que comunicamos o falecimento de Mirtes Gonçalves Vilela no Hospital Geral de Hamilton aos 74 anos. Mãe amorosa de Gabriel e Andrew, avó (Vovó) de Roberto Paulo e Knox. Irmã de Ivo♱(Iondes), Idê(Eurípedes♱), Hilda♱(Miron♱), Aparecida(Alaor♱), Maurício♱, Nadir(Roberto♱), Milton(Angélica) e Hildo(Ceres). Filha de Geraldo Gonçalves de Macedo♱ e Maura Vilela de Macedo♱. Mirtes era uma mulher forte e independente, com uma grande paixão por tudo o que se propunha. Ela se formou com honras em Direito em uma época em que as mulheres não tinham tais papéis. Tinha uma butique de muito sucesso com sua própria linha de roupas. Adorava a neve e decidiu aventurar-se no Canadá onde se apaixonou por Ivan♱, com quem viveu muitos anos maravilhosos. Infelizmente, sua batalha contra o Diabetes levou o melhor dela, agora ela vai descansar e estará para sempre em nossos corações.
